About

Read better, not just more.

GRADFLIX is India’s answer to Aeon: original long-form essays on the ideas that shape how we think, from philosophy, psychology and literature to history, society and science.

Every essay is written at the density of real entrance-exam passages, and ends with questions in the format of the exam you are preparing for: CAT, XAT, IPMAT, CLAT, GMAT, GRE or UPSC. Alongside the essays sit solved past papers for every major reading section, and timed CAT VARC sectional mocks.

Reading is free for everyone. A subscription unlocks answers, explanations and the tools that turn reading into a habit: scores, streaks, mocks and the leaderboard.

The author

GRADFLIX is founded and written by Abhishek Leela Pandey, a CAT mentor who scored in the 99.93 percentile in CAT, an author, and one of TradeFlock’s 40 Under 40 for 2024. He teaches aspirants to read difficult prose quickly and accurately, and GRADFLIX is built around that skill: read widely, read closely, then test yourself.

He writes the essays, the question sets, the past-paper explanations and the mocks on the site.

How we check our work

  • Answer keys: past-paper answers follow the official key wherever one is published (CAT by the IIMs, CLAT by the Consortium of NLUs). Where there is no official key (XAT, IPMAT), we follow the expert consensus key and flag disputed questions.
  • Explanations justify the keyed answer and explain why each other option is wrong, and every explanation is checked against the key before it is published.
  • Essays are original. Questions are written to the pattern of each exam, and mocks follow the current CAT VARC format and marking.
  • Spotted a mistake? Email gradflix@gmail.com and we will fix it.
