GRADFLIX (“we”, “us”) runs gradflix.in, a library of essays with reading-comprehension practice. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the service.

What we collect

Account details: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. You may add a phone number and your target exam.
Reading and practice activity: essays you read or save, answers you submit, scores, streaks and leaderboard points.
Payments: handled by Razorpay. We receive the payment ID, plan and amount. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe, and whether you confirmed.
Notifications: if you turn on browser notifications, a technical address for your browser (no personal details).
Comments you post, shown publicly with your display name.
Usage data: pages visited and device/browser type, through Google Analytics, to understand what readers find useful.

How we use it

To run your account, unlock paid features and keep your scores, streaks and history.
To send emails you asked for (newsletter) and emails about your account: welcome, payment receipts, plan-expiry and streak reminders. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link.
To improve the site and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run GRADFLIX, each under its own privacy terms: Supabase (database and sign-in), Netlify (hosting), Razorpay (payments), Resend (email), Cloudinary (images), Google (sign-in and analytics) and Anthropic (generating study aids from our own essays; no reader data is sent). We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your chosen exam, and analytics cookies to measure traffic. You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in will not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account exists. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, or from the newsletter page.
Turn browser notifications off at any time from the bell menu or your browser settings.
Ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to gradflix@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.

We process personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and answers and paid content are protected at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

GRADFLIX is meant for students preparing for competitive exams. If you are under 18, use GRADFLIX with a parent or guardian’s consent.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you by email for significant changes.
