The ethics and technology passage was noted by many aspirants as the most challenging — it presented multiple philosophical positions on algorithmic decision-making before reaching the author's own view in the final paragraph.
The sociology of urban spaces passage was written in a more accessible style but had the most difficult questions, with inference questions that required precise tracking of the author's qualified claims about gentrification and community identity.
Slot 3 RC passages
Slot 3 featured passages on cognitive biases in economic decision-making, political philosophy and democratic legitimacy, climate science communication, and a literary criticism passage on the role of the novel in shaping historical consciousness. The political philosophy passage on democratic legitimacy was the most abstract passage in Slot 3, presenting a tension between procedural and substantive conceptions of democratic legitimacy.
Patterns across all three slots
Philosophy and abstract reasoning featured in all three slots. All passages were argument-driven rather than information-driven — no passage was primarily a presentation of facts.
