With CLAT 2027 expected in early December, this is the stretch where steady daily reading pays off most. The plan assumes about an hour a day for English alongside your other sections.

The daily routine

  • 2 passages under time, about 6 to 7 minutes each with questions
  • Every explanation read, including for questions you got right
  • One line in your mistake log per wrong answer

Week by week

Rules for the last month

  • Do not skip reading on mock days: one passage keeps your speed warm.
  • Attempt a question only when you can reject at least two options; with −0.25 per wrong answer, blind guesses add up.
  • Stop learning new strategies after week 4.

Everything you need is free: CLAT English PYQs 2020 to 2025, solved, and a new CLAT-style passage every day.

How to analyse a past paper

Solving a past paper is only half the work. After each one, sort every wrong answer into a type: inference, tone, main idea, vocabulary or detail. Then count. Most aspirants find that one or two types cause most of their lost marks, and those are what week 2 is for.

On mock-test days

Keep one short passage on the day of a full mock, ideally in the morning. It keeps your reading warm without tiring you. Analyse the English section of the mock the same evening, before you forget why you chose each answer.

The day before and the day of CLAT

  • Do one easy passage the day before, then stop. No new material.
  • Sleep and eat on the exam-day schedule for the final week.
  • In the exam, start with the English passage you find most readable, not simply the first one.
  • Keep moving: a hard passage can be revisited at the end.
