GRE Select All That Apply: How to Get These RC Questions Right
One wrong tick and the whole question is wrong. Here is how to handle GRE select-all questions with confidence.
How they work
A select-all question gives three options. Any number from one to three can be correct, and you must choose exactly the right set to get credit. There is no partial credit.
Treat each option as true or false
Do not compare options with each other. Take each one alone and ask: does the passage support this? Mark it yes or no, then move to the next.
Common mistakes
- Picking only one because one seems clearly right, when another is also supported.
- Picking an option that is true in general but not supported by the passage.
- Being swayed by an option that repeats passage words but changes the meaning.
